TRAVELING LIGHT
by Max Lucado
In Traveling Light, Max Lucado in his classic humorous yet poignant style connects real life situations with spiritual principles. While reading his "easy to relate" to comparisons, I grinned, giggled, laughed, nodded and pensively considered the confronting, yet simple truths being presented. "When we come to God we make requests; we don't make demands. We come with high hopes and a humble heart. We state what we want, but we pray for what is right. And if God gives us the prison of Rome instead of the mission of Spain (like the apostle Paul*), we accept it because we know 'God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them.'" [p. 132] Traveling Light is fun and easy to read and would be a great blessing for the heart of any Christian. An excellent, uplifting and thought provoking book that makes plain our fleshy bad habits of traveling through life burdened and/or feeling overwhelmed. "For the sake of those you love, travel light. For the sake of the God you serve, travel light. For the sake of your own joy, travel light." [p. 8]
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 34:15 & 17
