Our view or belief system is our paradigm. Our paradigm is our filter system in every area of our lives. We hold a paradigm or belief system about every aspect of our thought process. If we receive information that does not match our belief system, we filter it out. Our paradigm is based on truth and error or a combination of both. It's typically based on our past, our feelings, and our experiences. Our paradigm is our REALITY--what we believe to be true, whether it is true or not, it is our filtering system. Here's a simple test of our visual paradigm.

Once you've read the last statement, your visual paradigm immediately shifted from a negative thought to a positive one. Wow, how simply our paradigm can shift and change! With the introduction of light, darkness is dispelled and our paradigm can immediately change.
In and during the adoption journey, many couples experience lots of paradigm shifts. Typically adoptive couples come to Christian Adoption with a "mindset", a paradigm that is based on their past experiences, emotions, and stories about adoption; they have a firm filtering system for the adoption process.
The ministry of Christian Adoption tends to challenge and often shatters the paradigms of Christian couples. This is typically needful and a very GOOD thing. There are no life experiences or emotions that can adequately prepare a couple for the adoption journey. Adoption is a unique and life altering roller coaster ride that brings about paradigm changes. For those that are flexible and willing to accept paradigm shifts; the ride is interesting, challenging, spiritually maturing, and exciting. For those that resist change and try to hold onto their paradigms, the ride is exhausting and overwhelming.
A benefit we offer to our Christian Adoption family is ITSELF. Our Christian Adoption family is loaded with adoptive couples that have successfully altered their paradigms and are willing to help others also through these mind-bending, yet enlightening experiences.
Christian Adoption offers a place of refuge and a family of support to those that are living through the adoption process and constant paradigm changes. Follow God's leading and you will be blessed beyond measure.
