IN ORDER...LINED OUT...DUCKS IN A ROW...SORTED OUT...FLOWERS PLANTED...
In the north they call it, "Get your life in order". On the railroad they say, "Get it lined out". Farmers say, "Get your ducks in a row." In England they say, "Get it sorted out." In the south they say, "Get your flowers all planted".
At Christian Adoption, we have discovered some issues that are deterrents for the challenging ride of adoption. To these areas of life, we suggest that one "gets it together" before they come online with our service. It is ludicrous to expect God to place a child into a family unit that has not settled basic issues of life that will adversely affect their abilities to become parents.
Any couple that has marital problems, needs to seek God's help and deliverance before they embark on the adoption journey.
Any couple that is not unified about their pursuit/approach to adoption, needs to prayerfully and thoughtfully work out their differences.
Any couple that is financially unstable, needs to assess their financial priorities and limitations prior to accepting the responsibility of children.
Any couple that is career-oriented, needs to consider what sacrifices they are willing to make to become parents that will bring glory to God.
Any couple that is looking for a "free" adoption, needs to pray for financial prosperity.
Any couple that is looking for "their interpretation" of a perfect child, needs to ask for God's help to accept His best for their lives.
Any couple that has serious health problems, needs to receive healing deliverance so they can physically care for a child.
Any couple that holds a negative attitude towards birthmothers, needs to consider our Lord's depth of limitless compassion for mankind.
Any couple that feels threatened by their brothers and sister in Christ being blessed in adoption, before they are, needs to pray for patience and thankfulness.
Any couple that is determined to refuse God's blessing, needs to pray about whether they should consider adoption.
We write about these various scenarios, because they are relevant and we have experienced the challenges of those that have listed with our service, prematurely. No doubt we helped them to grow in their understanding, but often it has been a painful process--for all of us.
It is our heart's desire to help others in the adoption process. It is our goal to help our brothers and sisters in Christ receive God's best into their lives; His "champagne" child for them. However, we recommend that couples that have challenges in any of these areas/issues in life--seek deliverance and help before climbing aboard the adoption ride.
