A few clearly defined examples of successful adoptions within our CA family, should clarify for the reader why, we do not pro-rate the effectual power of prayer.

When L & L came online with CA, they had bio children and wanted to grow their family through adoption, because they specifically wanted their children to be 2 years apart in age. I discouraged them from listing with us, as I knew the roller coaster ride of adoption was more than what they were expecting. After being online with CA for just 3 months, they asked to 'get off the ride'. They decided to NOT adopt a child and find contentment in their family of beautiful children. They wanted a refund, a pro-rate or some financial compensation for choosing to not adopt. Their decision was of their choosing and we had clearly defined where our service fees are spent, how quickly they are spent, and that we were not personally gaining wealth from CA. Graciously they bowed out without a fuss. However, during the course of those 3 months, we had countless numbers of people praying for them (as well as every couple that comes online with us.) AND God in His grace and mercy was working to bless their family through adoption. About 2 months later, birthmom L. called me to inquire about L & L that no longer appeared on the CA web site. Birthmom L. had read, printed and saved their profile letter--from when they were listed--and when she first learned she was pregnant. I related to her that L & L were no longer pursuing adoption and that we had many other couples for her to consider for placement. "NO! I want them and no one but them." "Well L., they are in Europe for about 6 weeks and have decided to not adopt. BUT we have many willing, ready and able couples that you can place with." "NO! They are the couple for me and I will wait for them to return to the states so I can reach them. This baby is for them and no one else." "Okay, what would you like for me to do for you?…" A few months later, L. gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and L & L successfully adopted their new son. L & L did successfully adopt through CA, although no longer online with us. F & T came online with us and presented interesting challenges from day #1. Since they were in their 50's and already had grown bio children and several grandchildren, I knew we had some 5-senses obstacles to overcome from the get-go. However, they "hung in there" with us, until the web site crashed, and then opted to pursue adoption through the Foster Care system in their home state. However, during their time of being online with us, and the countless prayers that were said on their behalf, M & M successfully adopted from an attorney contact that called CA for a Christian family. (Thanks to N & S in NC for leading the attorney to CA!) While speaking with that attorney and discussing couples, he chose to print profiles for his files for future consideration. A few months after F & T left CA, this same attorney called them for a placement and their baby boy was born in '02. Their successful adoption is a result of being online with CA. You and I have NO, NADA, ZIPPO idea how many birthmoms, agencies, attorneys, social workers and birth grandparents are reading, printing and saving your profile letter for future reference. Many placements have occurred in such a fashion, after couples chose to leave CA. (IE. G & S; R & D; B & N; P & J; T & J) Additionally, who can possibly fathom the benefits of the committed prayer support and coverage that is freely and graciously poured out upon every couple in our CA family? Furthermore, it seems reprehensible to even think about a $ value for this prayer cover. Lastly, since CA is a ministry that serves God and His people, who has lost any money by supporting Christian Adoption?

We clearly state on the web site that when a couple comes online, it is until they successfully adopt or up to a period of one year. HOW that adoption takes place or by WHAT source that adoption occurs is not the point. The point is to successfully adopt a child. So when couples have come online and successfully adopted via another source, our commitment of prayer, promotion, and counsel has been fulfilled. WHO can say categorically that without the prayers within our CA family, they would have adopted anyway? WHO can measure the value and the efficacy of prayer that is poured out upon every CA couple? Perhaps, an adoption occurred not only because of the prayer cover/support/power, but as a result of simple OBEDIENCE TO HIM. In other words, GOD directs a couple to come online with CA and BECAUSE they OBEY HIS VOICE, the end result is a successful adoption of a child--quickly or painlessly or through a long-standing source. When the Lord returns and we all spend "a few hundred years in God's living video library"--THEN--we will understand the WHY, the HOW, the WHOLE story. Until then, coming online with CA is a response to God's guidance. It is HIS ministry and every CA family member is what makes it dynamic, alive, and vital.
