MAYBE YOU HAVE THOUGHT THIS WAY TOO--UPON OCCASION
The world is full of people with needs. Big needs, small needs, and everyday needs. There are obstacles in life of every size, dimension, and description that need to be overcome. The only way a Christian can overcome and rise above the chronic needs in this life is through a continual trust in God and prayerfully submitting petitions before His throne.
Maybe you have thought the way I did and still sometimes do--upon occasion.
There are just too many needs, too many prayer requests, and too much pressure.
There are solutions to these very human thoughts. There are solid answers to the myriad list of endless questions that often circulate in our heads. Let's consider each point or question individually and use God's Word as our standard, our measuring stick, and our only source for truth or right believing.
There are just too many needs--
But my God shall supply all my need according to Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
This truth tells us that our needs will be met, but does not say that everyone's need will be met at the same time. Additionally, we need to be honest if what we need is according to Christ Jesus.
too many prayer requests--
Pray without ceasing. I Thessalonians 5:17
We are instructed to pray all the time, so how many are too many prayer requests, if we are perpetually in a state of prayer?
too much pressure--
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. II Corinthians 4:8-9
Yes, we have troubles and there are lots of pressures in this life, but we have the victory in Christ Jesus. We are over-comers and the victors in every situation--because we have Christ Jesus living within us.
...Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27c
God promises us peace in the midst of turmoil and deliverance from our enemies. There are no promises that life will be easy. There are no promises that indicate that life will be without tribulation. However there are plenty of truths that exhort us to esteem each other better than ourselves, to comfort one another, to pray for one another, to bear one another's burdens, and to walk in love towards each other.
DO what you are exhorted, asked, lovingly implored (begged), and commanded to do!
Love and serve, pray all the time, and stand fast in the midst of battle.
