FOOTPRINTS

Did you know that everywhere we go we leave a literal footprint behind?
Whether barefoot, with shoes, boots or sandals on--we're leaving a trail of footprints behind us.
Have you ever seen an educational show about thermal energy tracking devices? These thermal devices register thermal temperatures in varying colors, based on intensity of heat.
Perhaps you've seen that mind-changing picture of the human body walking across a room leaving a trail of thermal imprints behind. Each footprint varies in color from blue to red to orange, depending on the point of contact, between the human foot and the floor surface.
EVERYWHERE we go, we physically, literally, are leaving a trail of footprints behind!
Did you know that everywhere we go, as God's children, we leave a spiritual footprint behind?
Whether we are newly born again ones, maturing believers, wearing the whole armor of God or not--we're leaving a trail of footprints behind.
Have you ever seen the power of prayer at work in the lives of other people? Our prayers can be fervently hot, blazing a trail of spiritual footprints behind us. Our prayers can be quietly and consistently laying spiritual footprints and foundations for generations to come. Our intercessions for others can pave the way for others to follow in our Christ like steps.
Did you know that we can follow in the footsteps of those spiritual men and women that have gone before us?
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did not sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.
I Peter 2:21-23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalm 37:23-24
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Psalm 119:133
Every day, no matter what kind of day it is, we're leaving a trail of literal and spiritual footprints behind us.
What's the BIG picture of these trails we leave behind?
Either we minimize the privilege, responsibility and eternal effect of what we do with our lives each day.
OR
We blaze a spiritual trail for those that follow us (our children, our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, all human life) until our Lord Christ Jesus returns.
Spiritual maturity and long range vision sees the BIG FOOTPRINT picture
Every prayer I pray for anyone/everyone matters and makes a difference.
Every time I choose to stand on God's Word, I'm leaving a hot trail of spiritual footprints behind.
Every time I give or serve or minister with a Christ-like heart--more footprints are left behind, paving the way for others to follow in his steps.
Every prayer, every confession of God's Word, every Christ-in (Christian) action makes a difference, and leaves spiritual footprints.
In the world of adoption, more specifically Christian Adoption, we have a God-given responsibility to love and to pray for birth parents and the life changing decisions they face. EVEN IF we do not receive the desired result, our desired result, we're still responsible to conduct ourselves in a Christ-like manner. AND when we choose to walk in his steps, we're leaving footprints behind that can and will affect generations to come.
What if I invest time (my time each day should be to obey Him), money (God's $), effort (my daily efforts should be for His glory), and prayers (life time effects on the lives of others, perhaps eternal effects aka salvation) with a birthmother and the placement fails or doesn't happen according to my mental plan?
See the big picture
