Hmmm

We were told that llamas are terrific "watchdogs" for a farm. We knew we had to do more to protect our birds. The chicken house had been raided a couple times and the duck flock had been decimated by red foxes.
Our first llama arrival was Ande', a pregnant female, named after the Andes Mts. in Peru. Next came Karlita, another pregnant female, named after our CA couple Karl & Beth. WHAT? Okay, let's go to a sidebar
[At our 1st CHRISTIAN ADOPTION FAMILY REUNION, at our round table discussion, I asked a number of questions of all that attended. One of those obscure questions was if you could own any farm animal, what would it be? Beth answered Llamas. So, as soon as we bought Ande', I'd decided that her baby would be named BB in honor of our very own Beth B. Then when #2 llama arrived, it only made sense (to my mind) to name her Karlita. (Doesn't that make logical sense to you?)]
Our male llama's name is Peru' and I'll name Karlita's baby, Montana (the Spanish rendition) in the spring. Now the llamas are super when protecting the birds, as long as a predator is almost directly in front of their tunnel vision. I've discovered they have very little peripheral vision. I can walk right up behind them, as long as I'm downwind, because they just don't see circumspectly (like cows, horses, dogs, cats ). So even though the llamas are not "eagle-eyed" protectors, they are nonetheless a gentle and interesting creature. They have an interesting smell. The females smell like a warm cozy blanket by a fire and Peru' smells like garlic. They're docile and quiet animals, sociable yet not intrusive. They eat the same feed as other herd animals since they're rudiments. We feed them a bucket of sweet feed and cattle cubes twice a day.
Now to the point of this story
Every time I feed the llamas, Ande', will "hum" behind me. It's a soft gentle hum of a noise, much like you or I make if we simply hum---Hmmm. She's very consistent with her Hmmm--what I consider a kind of thanks being communicated. Karlita chops away, Peru' likes to scamper; but Ande' she'll give me that soft deep hum at every feeding. For my mind it's comforting to hear, it's sweet, it's a small reassurance of appreciation, it's special and it's just plain neat. Go figure that a little hum could be such a blessing!
Okay, here's the point
God, in His mercy and grace, wants to bless YOU in a unique and special way ALL THE TIME. He wants YOU to know that He loves YOU and cares for YOU. He wants to be a warm and gentle presence in YOUR life, so YOU are comforted and feel special. God's heart is for YOUR heart to be reassured of His all-encompassing love for YOU. All you need to do is to look, listen and expect His "hum" in YOUR life. Just open those spiritual eyes and see what magnificence He has in store for YOU. Open your spiritual ears and let Him guide YOU and comfort YOU and remind YOU and direct YOU into His glorious abundance. Every day in a multitude of ways, He offers YOU blessings of "hum".
It might be a sunrise with a single ray reaching through the clouds in your direction. It might be the sound of the wind bristling through the trees on a gentle day. It might be the squeeze of a human hand inside yours. It might be the brilliant color that you observe in His creation or maybe the sound of a friendly voice that brings you comfort. All of these "hum" moments are for YOU, to bless YOU, to strengthen and to encourage YOU. Whatever challenges you face from day to day or from hour to hour, God is with you and He is reminding you of His presence with His quiet and warm Hmmm
