CHRISTINA: TREASURED MEMORIES

(Ladies, you will need a tissue when you read this one! All names have been changed to protect the privacy of this family.)

(Another successful adoption associated with Christian Adoption.)

We love Jasmine and her entire family. We would like to adopt them all! When we first met, we just seemed to hit it off and they were so very kind and thoughtful about everything. Although it was painful to watch how difficult it was for Jasmine to give up her precious child, she stood her ground and spoke of the peace she had from doing what was best for the baby. We have a BEAUTIFUL baby girl! Her name is Ruth! She is such a sweet, petite little thing and we just adore her. Krissy won't stop kissing her on the head! She is so proud of her baby sister and is such a big part of the success of the adoption. Jasmine and her parents said what clinched it for them was seeing us with Krissy and how much we love her. I am finding that the little things like that are adding up to make a wonderful picture. Like walking into a restaurant in Riverview and asking for a table for "four". Like introducing Krissy to someone as my "OLDER daughter." Like being pushed out of the hospital in a wheelchair with the baby in my arms--just like all the other mothers. Like the delivery nurse being a Christian and coming out and telling us how special she thought we were. Like Jasmine wearing the heart necklace we gave her all during her stay in the hospital. Like the people in the hotel helping us in any way possible. Like all four of the notaries that we found at random when we needed to sign papers-having some connection to adoption. Like everyone everywhere we've been with the baby telling me how good I look for just having given birth! These are the things I'm treasuring in my heart and I am so thankful to be so blessed! The other thing and it is a big thing, not a little thing, is that we felt such a peace and calmness the whole time; knowing that God was/is with us. This I know is because of all the prayers that were going up for us. I can't begin to say how much that has meant. We tell everyone about Christian Adoption and how special everyone is--our family of believers. There is no handbook on how to talk with the birth family of your adopted child! But knowing we had your prayer support made all the difference. I can't imagine trying to do an adoption without God's involvement. It has been such an incredible experience because it is a God-deal and He gets all the glory. I am running on some kind of "baby high" now, but am starting to feel the affects of sleep deprivation! But before I turn in, I have been hungry to catch up on the updates and have just printed them out to read and to pray over. So exciting to be back home and receiving your E-mails! I keep getting up to go look at the baby in her crib. I am still in amazement that this has happened and am pinching myself. I had better get some shut-eye while I can before she wakes up for the next feeding. But I even love that part, because in the middle of the night, she's all mine! It is such a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am treasuring every mothering moment.

Love and many, many thanks to all in the Christian Adoption family,

Christina
