Dear Deborah,

I wanted to give you an update on how we are progressing with our checklist, before coming online with Christian Adoption!

I contacted 25-30 couples on the Christian Adoption reference list. Although not all of the couples that responded, adopted directly through Christian Adoption, everyone supported and commented about the effectiveness of the ministry. 

We met with our Pastor to discuss our intentions to list with Christian Adoption. We're so grateful for his wise leadership and support. He offered to write one of our recommendation letters. Our profile is nearly complete. I agonized over it at first and wanted it to be "just right." I typed and typed, but hit the "delete" key the most! I realized there's no "just right" profile, so I prayed for God's help. I prayed that He would help me to just be "me" and that the end result would glorify Him.

We continue to pray for the Lord's direction, although we have His peace for the path He has chosen. We've begun to share with family and friends our adoption plans. Some are supportive and some have reservations. I think adoption is a topic that most people don't think about, given the ridiculous comments we've heard! Adoption is a very familiar topic in our family--I was adopted as an infant. We're all grateful for the blessing of adoption!

The Christian Adoption Family is in our prayers. We look forward to becoming an active part of this ministry.

Dear Katharyn,

You're so right--if a person hasn't adopted or been directly involved in adoption, they cannot understand it. It's not their fault because they have no center of reference for the multitude of emotions, fears, concerns, and excitement. Additionally, most people can't fathom the depth of love we have for our adopted children. You're on the right track and God is clearly teaching you.

KUDOS to you for understanding that it's not your profile...it's not your photos...it's not what you look like...what you do or where you live that matters.

God will answer your prayers and He will lead your birthmother to you.
