AN EPIPHANY MOMENT

Written by Deborah.

4.22.10

Last Sunday morning at church, a couple that plays in our Praise Band, brought their adult son from another area.

Paul sang a tenor solo, to the praise of his parents, and listened to the sermon. Somewhere between the sermon and the final song, he had an epiphany moment. The same moment that each of us, as committed Christians, needs to also experience.

Paul said to his dad, “Dad, I finally ‘get it’. Christianity isn’t about religion or about attending church, or even about calling oneself a Christian. Christianity is about having a relationship with God. It’s not religion, it’s relationship!”

Ah, yes—that’s the crux of the Christian issue.

Do we, as Christians, as God’s children, as born again ones, as believers in the one true God, as servants for the most high…have a relationship with our heavenly Father?

Christianity is about a personal relationship with the God of the universe.

Relationships involve trust.

Relationships entail believing.

Relationships equal communication.

Relationships mean confidence.

Relationships require sharing.

In Christian Adoption, each of us is challenged every day to trust, to believe, to communicate, to confide in and to share our hearts with our great God.

Daily, we can place our prayers, petitions, and requests before God with trust in His sovereignty.

Daily, we can put our belief and faith in God’s unalterable faithfulness.

Daily, we can communicate to God our fears, our frustrations, our hopes, our dreams, and our expectations.

Daily, we can remain confident in God’s ability and willingness to answer our prayers.

Daily, we can share our thoughts, our feelings, and our wonderings with the God who created life.

God has worked within each of our lives to bring us unto Him.
He has drawn us.

God has worked within each of our lives to bring us to adoption.
He had led us.

God has worked within each of our lives to bring us to the Internet.
He has guided us.

God has worked within each of our lives to bring us to Christian Adoption.
He has directed our steps.

God has worked within each of our lives to bring us into a family.
He has united us.

What we do with the relationships we have with our heavenly Father and each other is entirely up to each of us.

I hope and pray that each of us will continue to seek God’s face and guidance to bless one another, in our Christian Adoption Family.
