Dear Birthparent,

We are Steve, Amber, and Makiah and we live in Kansas.

We commend you for your selfless decision to choose the amazing gift of life for your child. We pray that God will continue to give you strength and guidance as you continue on your journey. We are a loving, Christian family praying to bring another child into our hearts. We believe Christian values and the development of a relationship with the Lord in a nurturing home is everlasting.

About Us

We met while we were in college working on our Bachelors in Education. Steve played baseball in college, while I volunteered at a local Elementary School and was a nanny for a family of four. We dated for over 2 years and were married in 2004. We currently live in a small town where we both teach in our local school system. Steve received his Master’s Degree in 2006 and teaches High School Social Studies. I'm currently teaching 5^th grade. We enjoy all sorts of athletics and activities. Steve coaches high school basketball and baseball. I have also coached in the past, but not since we started a family. I do make time to play on a REC league volleyball team with my sisters. Although we are very active, we find ways to spend time together and with our families.  We are unable to have children, but God blessed us with Makiah through adoption! Now, we're excited to adopt again! We feel that God has led us on this path, as He knows our child is waiting for us to find him/her! We yearn for a child to expand our family. We believe we have many wonderful qualities to offer a child, and Makiah is ready to be a big sister. While we're at work Makiah stays with Amber’s sister, Tracy and her son, Grady. We are truly blessed in our profession, as we have summers off to spend together.

Steve is an amazing husband and an awesome father to Makiah. I am so blessed to share my life with him! He's very dedicated to his work as a teacher/coach and enjoys helping children to reach their full potential. He is always available to lend a helping hand regarding any task. His kind and gentle spirit is an inspiring quality. Steve is a very involved father and loves both of his girls! He has a strong bond with Makiah and he looks forward to sharing his love with another child.

About Amber (by Steve)

Amber is a devoted mother and wife. Her ability to interact and care for children astounds me. I am blessed to share my life with my best friend. Amber gives her whole heart and doesn't settle for anything less than her best. I can't imagine my life without her and anticipate spending a lifetime raising and nurturing our family together. Our strength is in the Lord. He has brought us together to open our hearts to obey His will.  

About our Family

We have a very close, Christian family who supports our desire to adopt. Amber has two sisters, with whom she is very close.  Steve also has a sister, with whom he has a very close bond. We take an annual family vacation with Amber’s parents and sisters to the lake. We enjoy all aspects of our trip: fishing, skiing, tubing, knee boarding and grilling out.

Although we have not met you, you are in our daily thoughts and prayers. You are precious in God’s sight and He cares deeply for you and the wonderful, precious life of your baby. Thank you for considering us to parent your child, whom we will cherish and raise with hearts filled with love for the Lord. You are loved more than you know!
