Our names are Peter & Heather and we live in New York.
Thank you for choosing life for your child. We’ve been praying for a long time—for you and your baby. We’ve also been praying to become parents through adoption.
We’re unable to have children due to Heather’s medical condition. Becoming parents will be an answer to prayer and a dream come true for both of us.
We met through friends and family church and were married in 2005. From the first time we met, there were stars in our eyes! We both grew up in New York and it’s a great place to raise a family! We live in small city, surrounded by rural communities.
Peter works as a paralegal for the county and is well respected in our community government. Studying history is one of his favorite hobbies and he enjoys reading in the evenings. Peter has played violin for many years and is active in many local musical groups. In addition to his paralegal job, Peter earns money throughout the year participating in concerts and quartet bookings. His father, “Grandpa”, has taught music for over 30 years and volunteers his musical teaching skills. Peter sings in the church choir and looks forward to sharing his love of music with our child. Heather has a Masters Degree in early childhood education and teaches at a small Christian School. Her Kindergarten and First Grade students are a joy! As a teacher for over 10 years, she has enjoyed watching little ones grow up and mature. She hopes to touch their lives as much as they have blessed her. Our jobs enable us to have family days off, vacation time, and excellent benefits. One of Heather's hobbies is cross stitching and she has completed many beautiful pieces.
Our home is in a beautiful neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. We live near a city park with a carousel and swimming pool. Peter’s dad lives within walking distance from us, so we enjoy nightly walks together. Our home is a safe haven and one of our bedrooms will become a special nursery. We come from families with many aunts, uncles and cousins who make the Lord their priority in life. We were both raised in stable Christian homes and were taught to follow in the steps of Jesus Christ. All of our family is full of anticipation for our future adoption!
As Christians, our faith and church are very important to us. Our church family offers us generous support and loving friendships. Becoming leaders of the youth group has been a blessing! The kids are very faithful and we hope our planned activities are fun and teach them about Christian service. We love children and we’re happy to share our lives with them. We believe it’s important to spend time praying together as well as have personal devotions.
We’re committed to provide a child with a Christian education and to teach wise stewardship of finances. Both of us enjoy the outdoors and taking long walks, which is an ideal time for quiet conversations. Our pet rabbit, Dusty, is well loved and cuddly. In the future we’ll become owners of a bouncy dog too! We enjoy traveling and taking advantage of the events in our community. Each summer, we love finding an amusement park and riding the roller coasters! Because of our love, we often find ourselves laughing at the little things in each other.
We understand that raising a child is full of challenges, but also many rewards. We’re not entering into parenthood with rose colored glasses. We will instill honesty, compassion, and will demonstrate God’s love. We will encourage our child to do their best in every situation. Confidence in their abilities and a willingness to try new things will help build strong character. We have a deep love and respect for each other which will provide stability for a child’s security. We look forward to showering our love upon a precious baby.
And the apostles said unto the Lord, 'Increase our faith.' Luke 17:5
We continue to increase our faith through a greater knowledge of God’s Word. We're so glad that God brought us together! Thank you for reading our letter.
May we follow His will,
Peter & Heather
