We’re Bob and Karen and we live in Virginia.

We are a Christian couple praying to be blessed with children! Although we don’t know the challenges you face in choosing adoption, we deeply appreciate your personal sacrifice for your child’s future. We’ve spent the past 4 years (including one 15-month Iraq deployment) seeking God’s answers to our prayers.

About Us: We met in Washington, D.C. at a software conference in 2000. Not the most romantic beginning, but we smile every time we pass that building! We were married in 2003 and love being part of the military community. I’ve learned so much about our military service as a spouse and in working for this governmental service branch. The military offers wonderful benefits, activities for children, family oriented get-togethers, picnics and events throughout the year. We anticipate sharing in these activities with our children. We’ve exhausted our infertility options and continue to rely upon God for a child.

About Bob: Bob is a very caring, dedicated and kind leader. He is available to help family, neighbors and our nation, as needed. He has a fun-loving personality, is very creative, and knows how to encourage others. Bob remains strong, steadfast, and prayerful even when life brings disappointment. His dedicated military career reflects his desire to serve and sacrifice for others. Bob is my best friend.

About Karen (from Bob): Karen makes my heart flutter, but also brings an enormous amount of calm to my life. She is smart, beautiful, and gentle. I am blessed to share my life with her. Her encouragement, love and strength during a deployment made our marriage unshakable. I feel blessed that our love for each other has proven that we can handle anything. Karen is a hard worker, a wonderful cook, loves children, and is faith-filled.

Our Families: We’re blessed to have loving extended families. My 2 sisters are waiting to love on a baby and my parents are equally excited for grandchildren! Bob’s family in Kentucky anticipates our many visits during holidays. And our extended military families (all 500 of them) are supportive of our decision to adopt. 

Our Church: We attend church close to our home and enjoy a brisk walk in the Spring and Summer months. Bob helps with set-up and I help with marketing and social planning. When we visit my family, we participate in church services where I was christened and confirmed; we were also married in that church. My grandmother’s pastor at her church is an adoptive parent, so we enjoy a special connection and hope from that relationship.   

Family Goals: We look forward to raising our children to know and understand God’s love. We will teach them to follow Christ’s teachings throughout their lives. By example they will learn how to seek God’s direction. We remain thankful for the many family and friends that faithfully pray for us and our future children. Their support brings us great comfort. We pray that you are also comforted by God’s love and that His strength will guide and direct you to the family for your child. We appreciate your prayerful consideration of us. We are a couple that will love, protect and nurture your child.
