Dear Birthparent(s):
We are Russ and Denise. We have been praying that God would lead you to us through Christian Adoption. You are facing some difficult decisions because of your unplanned pregnancy and our hearts go out to you and the baby. In this stressful situation, as you think and pray about your pregnancy, we hope you will consider how your decisions will affect you and the baby.
Because of this unexpected pregnancy, you are facing hard decisions that will drastically change your life. You may have had other goals, dreams, and plans for your life. You may feel unable to provide for the child the way you would like. We believe that adoption is a beautiful alternative.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Adoption may be God’s opportunity to work things together for good. We have considered with heartfelt emotion the potential opportunity to adopt another child. We know that the Lord has caused our lives to cross paths with yours for a purpose. God tells us that He has a purpose for everything in life, and he has a very special plan for you, the baby, and the family who adopts the baby.
For we have received the spirit of adoption… Romans 8:15
For years, we prayed, hoped and prepared to become parents. Then we were blessed with our precious Annalise in May 2004! Since then, we have continued praying that we would be blessed with more children. We are confident that God will bless us with more children because God answered our prayer for Annalise. In our hearts, we truly long to be parents of more children. Our inability to have our own children has deepened our desire and appreciation for them. We have been blessed in so many ways by God, and look forward to being blessed with another child through adoption. Our faith has grown deeper as we have relied upon it for strength knowing the Lord doesn’t give us more than we can handle. We feel certain that we can abundantly provide for all the children God brings to us with love, care, nurturing, and a stable home. God has provided us with enough love and blessings to share them with more children. We truly believe that God has not completed his plan for us as parents until we are united with more children that we can raise for the Lord and provide his truth and values to them. We learned about love, commitment, and our faith through the families that raised us and want to pass that on to our children.
We love being parents to Annalise! We know she is a gift from the Lord because of the many special events and moments that have come together since her birth. There have been wonderful loving and caring people that God has brought to us to help us in countless ways. God led us to a new doctor for her two month check-up. Amazingly something unusual was detected by the doctor. After medical testing, Annalise was diagnosed with cancer. She had surgery when she was two months old and the cancer was completely removed. God worked in amazing ways.
About Us
We were both raised by loving parents, good Christian role models, and in stable families with an emphasis on Christian faith. We have learned about love, commitment, nurturing and stability from our parents. Both of us come from families of four children (Denise has a twin brother) and we are close to our brothers and sisters. We pray that Annalise will know the joy of growing up with brothers and sisters to love. We both are originally from rural areas in northwestern Ohio and our parents still live there. We enjoy our many nieces and nephews and look forward to family get-togethers. We appreciate and treasure our families and the times we share with them. We see each other regularly on holidays, birthdays and special events. We have deep family histories with many memories, pictures and heirlooms to remind us of our family legacy.
We met in 1997 at Denise’s church when Russ was visiting his parents. Our first date was on Mother’s Day. After a long distance relationship between Ohio and Michigan, we were married in 2000 at the church where we met. We live in a suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of a metropolitan area. There are many children in the neighborhood. Educationally we both have college degrees and work as professionals. Russ works as a project manager/environmental engineer at a metro park system. Denise works part time as an administrative assistant for a small CPA company. Since the birth of Annalise, Denise has been working part-time so she has been able to lovingly care for our child.
As a married couple, we are devoted to one another, are the best of friends, and share a deep love for each other. We share many interests, and the desire to make things fun in life, even when we are working hard. We just enjoy being together and the love we share. We pray together daily and support and strengthen each other through our love and faith in Christ.
Russ and Denise
We enjoy outdoor activities together such as walking in our neighborhood, cross-country skiing at local parks, and gardening. We love to go to parks and beaches and enjoy the beautiful outdoors and joys of nature. We have been working on home improvement projects, organizing our house, decorating it, and making it a welcome place for friends and family. We enjoy antique shops and other shopping. We both like reading, learning new things, and spending time with friends we’ve kept from high school and college. As Christians, we are committed, active members of our church. We have a close-knit caring church and it’s special to be a part of this loving Christian family. The close friends we have made at church share our faith and values and help strengthen our faith.
Russ (by Denise)
Russ is a warm, smart, social man with a tender heart. He is affectionate, fun, thoughtful, and patient. He looks for the good in people and approaches life with careful consideration. He loves singing and playing musical instruments, having friends over, gardening, home improvement projects, helping his parents, and knows how to have fun in life. He plays guitar and sings at church. He has also been active in several other organizations. Russ enjoys the outdoors and is great at teaching about nature by sharing his joy of nature. He is constantly striving toward personal improvement and looks to the Lord for direction for his life. God chose a great mate for me in Russ.
Russ has been so thankful for the opportunity to become a father. Being a parent has been something that he prayed for so long that it has really mended his heart since it has occurred. He is blessed by being able to love Annalise, to read to her, pray and play with her, teach and laugh with her. He is there for her providing her with caring and security and being the kind of parent she needs.
Denise (by Russ)
Denise is the greatest blessing that God has given me. She loves life, is warm and affectionate, has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh. Denise is intelligent, beautiful, very giving and caring, enjoys friends and family, and supports others with her time and talents. She loves music and singing. Her hobbies include reading, baking, entertaining, and singing. Denise is a dedicated and sincere woman and her faith is truly important to her; it’s the foundation of her life. Denise loves being a mother and has that special gleam in her eye and special purpose in her ways because it’s such a privilege for her to be a mommy. She gives love and caring attention to provide a close loving bond needed by children.
Annalise (by Mom and Dad)
Our little girl is such a joy. She is full of energy and loves to be on the go. She enjoys bike riding, running, playing games with people, and going to the neighborhood park. Her artistic nature comes out in her craft making, coloring, singing and dancing. She is in the children’s choir at church and also attends dance class. Annalise has all kinds of friends from young to old. Our families (including our church family) have welcomed her with open arms and taken her into their hearts. She loves to help Denise bake and they fill the house with the smell of great food. Annalise enjoys playing with other kids in the neighborhood and at church. She is such a happy little girl and amazes us daily.
We truly believe that we can provide a loving home for another child because of the many blessings that God has provided us and because we are prepared for another child at this time in our lives. The baby’s room is prepared and our hearts are ready for God’s timing for future children. Raising a child in a secure, stable, loving environment are just a few of the things that we can offer a child. We want to tenderly raise our children with care and in such a way that they would be accepted and loved unconditionally in our home and know of the Lord’s great love for them.
If you would like to know more about us or would like to talk, please just call. You have been connected to us through the Christian Adoption family, and we are praying for you and the baby as the Lord guides you in this most difficult decision.
With prayers for God’s sustaining care and direction,
Russ & Denise
