CHRISTIAN ADOPTION: Russ & Denise

Dear Birthparent(s):

We are Russ and Denise. We have been praying that God would lead you to us through Christian Adoption. You may be facing some difficult decisions and our hearts go out to you and your baby. As you think and pray about your pregnancy, we hope you will consider how your decisions will affect you and your baby. You may have had other goals, dreams, and plans for your life, but we believe adoption is a beautiful alternative.

For we have received the spirit of adoption… Romans 8:15

With heartfelt emotion and prayer we have considered adopting another child, and we long to be parents of another child. We believe the Lord has worked in this situation to bring our lives to cross paths with yours for His purpose.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For years, we prayed, hoped and prepared to become parents. Then we were blessed with our precious Annalise in May 2004! We are confident that God will bless us with more children. Although we were disappointed to learn we are infertile, our faith grew as we relied upon the Lord for strength and resolve. Through these trials our desire and appreciation for children has deepened. We have learned about love, commitment, nurturing and stability from our parents. We are certain that we can abundantly provide for all the children God brings to us.

We love being parents to Annalise! We know she is a gift from the Lord and many special events and moments have transpired since her birth. God led us to the right doctor for her two month check-up; he detected something wrong and Annalise was diagnosed with cancer. She had surgery when she was two months old and the cancer was completely removed. God brought many wonderful, loving, and caring people to help us in countless ways. He works in amazing ways!

We were both raised by loving parents that were Christian role models. Both of us come from families of four children (Denise has a twin brother) and we are close to our brothers and sisters. We are both originally from rural areas in northwestern Ohio and our parents still live there. We enjoy our many nieces and nephews and look forward to family get-togethers. We appreciate and treasure our families and the times we share with them. We see each other regularly on holidays, birthdays and special events; and enjoy time with our extended families (aunts, uncles, cousins) also. We are blessed with deep family histories loaded with memories, pictures and heirlooms as reminders.

We met in 1997 at Denise’s church when Russ was visiting his parents; our first date was on Mother’s Day. After a long distance relationship between Ohio and Michigan, we were married in 2000 at the church where we met. We live in a beautiful suburban neighborhood of a large city. Educationally we both have college degrees and work as professionals. Russ works as a project manager/environmental engineer at a Metropark System. Denise works (part-time) as an administrative assistant in the sales department of an auto engineering company.

About Us

As a married couple, we are devoted to one another, are best friends, and share a deep love for each other. We share many interests, and the desire to make things fun in life, even when we are working hard. We pray together daily, as well as support and strengthen each other through our love and faith in Christ. We enjoy outdoor activities together such as walking in our neighborhood, cross-country skiing at local parks, boating at a nearby lake, and gardening. We love to go to parks and beaches to enjoy the beautiful joys of nature. We have been working on home improvement projects, organizing our house, decorating it, and making it a welcome place for friends and family. We enjoy shopping and antique stores. We both like reading, learning new things, and spending time with friends we’ve kept from high school and college. As Christians, we are committed, active members of our church. We have a wonderful close-knit caring church and it’s a joy to be a part of a loving Christian family. Our close friends at church share our faith, our values, and help to strengthen our Christian commitment.

Russ is a warm, smart, social man with a tender heart. He is affectionate, fun, thoughtful, and patient. He looks for the good in people and approaches life with careful consideration. He loves singing and playing musical instruments, having friends over, gardening, home improvement projects, helping his parents, and knows how to have fun in life. He sings in the church choir, plays guitar, and sings in the church praise band. He has also been active in several other organizations. Russ enjoys the outdoors and is a wonderful teacher while sharing his joy of nature. He strives for personal improvement and looks to the Lord for direction in his life. Russ is so thankful to be a father. He is blessed by being able to love Annalise, to read to her, pray and play with her, teach and laugh with her. He is available to her, feeds her, holds her and comforts her. He is ready to provide her with caring security and love at any time. I am thankful for Russ--God blessed me with a great man!

Denise is the greatest blessing that God has given me. She loves life, she's warm and affectionate, she has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh! Denise is intelligent, beautiful, very giving, very caring, enjoys friends and family, and supports others with her time and talents. She loves music and has always sung in the church choir. Her hobbies include reading, baking, entertaining, and singing. Denise is sincerely dedicated in her commitment to rely upon the Lord; her faith in Him is the foundation of her life. Denise loves being a mother! There's a special gleam in her eyes and a special purpose in her ways as she gives love and caring attention to Annalise. She is convinced that it’s a special privilege to be a mommy.

Our little girl is such a joy! She is full of energy and loves to be on the go! She enjoys walking, running, playing games with people, and riding in her stroller. Annalise has all kinds of friends from young to old. Our families (including our church family) has welcomed her with open arms and taken her into their hearts. She is such a happy little girl!

Raising a child in a secure, stable, loving environment are just a few of the blessings we can offer to a child. We seek to tenderly raise our children with acceptance, unconditional love and to understand the Lord's deep love for them.
