AS CHRISTIANS…

Written by Deborah

I can only imagine some of the various questions that may be circulating throughout Christian Adoption! "What is Deborah doing?" "What's up with all these personal testimonies and thought provoking vignettes?" "We came to this ministry to adopt a child, not join some theological seminar." "Uh, excuse me, what does all this have to do with the adoption process?"

Valid questions and equally intriguing questions. Okay, let's address some of these to put an end to that mental expansion of thought. (Oh, boy, here she goes again…!)

If by my willingness to be transparent for you, an open book to you, about certain areas of my life--causes you to be challenged in thought and therefore grow up in Him in even a minute way--MISSION accomplished. IF by my willingness to be a living epistle, known and read of all men, encourages you to search your soul to fashion your life more like Jesus Christ--MISSION accomplished! My logic says "If I have these challenges in life and these life changing moments, then maybe others are equally perplexed about their successes or lack thereof."

Christian Adoption has always been about more than just adoption. The emphasis has always been more on the Christian than the adoption part of our title name. Hence, Christian Adoption, rather than Adoption for Christians, ad infinite. Therefore, as Christians, my thinking and my heart have been to emphasize the Christian (Christ-like) aspect of our lives first. As a result we will seek to please our heavenly Father first, and the adoption process is more of a journey than a destination. My thinking and heart have been that as Christians we are commanded to continue to grow up in Him and therefore as the administrator I am responsible to assist you in that process as much as in the adoption process. My thinking and heart have been that our personal testimonies of victory are far more effective in reaching others than are our statistics. My thinking and heart have been that as Christians that have successfully adopted or successfully carried a pregnancy to full term, we desire to be the best parents we can be to our children. My thinking and heart have been that learning to parent and raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord needs just as much counsel and support as the adoption process. As Christians, I've been thinking that we're supposed to receive doctrine, reproof and correction so that we may be perfect or at least strive for such. As Christians, I've been thinking that our lives are more about obedience and service to God than to make sure "I get what I want" from God. As Christians, I've been thinking that none of us has "arrived" and therefore we all need encouragement and support and to know that we're not alone in the journey of life.

In summation, if at any time in any vignette received from Christian Adoption, anyone is prompted to become a better Christian in any way--then Christian Adoption has successfully served you, ministered to you and effected the lives of your adopted or biological children, as well as the future generations of your family.

As Christians within Christian Adoption, it is time to stand tall and declare to the world that our God is the God that delivers and answers prayer. As Christians within Christian Adoption, it is time to choose to receive all of God's abundant blessings so that we may be the best parents, the best Christians, the best family, the best of the best that the world has ever seen.

Now is the time to seize the day, the hour and the moment…as Christians.
