We recognize that God loves us and He will meet all our needs through His riches in glory.

We also realize that He will work within us to help us through our trials.

He will bless us and develop more of His love within us.

Personality Strengths

Realizing that our differences were a major factor in being drawn together as husband and wife, we will seek to keep that "first love" commitment alive by valuing our differences.

Additionally, we will actively seek to understand more about the other person’s viewpoint, thought process and natural reactions as a way of increasing our understanding and appreciation.

We acknowledge that we are each uniquely different, yet each of us is important in the body of Christ.

Anger

We purpose to shut out unhealthy anger with each other.

When we talk about conflicting issues, we will be slow to speak, quick to listen, and slow to anger.

James 1:19  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

When we do become angry, we will not allow the sun to go down on our anger.

Ephesians 4:26  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

When we cross over the line into unhealthy anger with our tone of voice or the words we speak or by our actions, we will be forgiving and seek forgiveness.

Matthew 18:22  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Meaningful Touch

We agree to provide every family member with abundant praise and encouragement, combined with affectionate touch. We pledge to do this consistently, even when our feelings may be in conflict.

Communication

We pledge to take the time to speak regularly about those things that are important to us and our loved ones. We will take seriously each others frustrations, fears, disappointments, burdens, and dreams. We further pledge to communicate our love verbally each day. Additionally, we will carve out communication time as needed so that we prioritize unity, intimacy, and peace in our relationships, so that God will be honored.

Family Bonding Experiences

We will seek to provide consistent family bonding activities that are not based upon the amount of money spent, but on time we spend together. To do so, we will sit down as a family and find out each person’s needs and likes, and then we'll develop a plan that incorporates activities that provides a memorable family experience.

Finances

We pledge to communicate the financial needs of our family. We will set goals to establish a budget that we can live with in order to free ourselves from the bondage of poor money management. Both spouses must agree to the budgeted amount. We promise to limit the use of credit cards and never to use money as a way of controlling our family or spouse. Our resources are to be shared in an honoring way and used to further the gospel of Christ.

Business

We pledge to communicate the needs of our family owned business. We agree to share the good times, the hard times, and all decisions together. Additionally, we will always speak kindly, and in love to one another, no matter how busy or stressed out we may feel. We will show God honor by the way we treat each other. We will own our possessions that God has so graciously given us and we will choose to not be owned by possessions. We will strive together to build our business to glorify God and to take care of the needs of others. In doing so, we will be a walking testimony for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will treat our employees as family and remain attentive to their needs.

We agree to believe the best in each other, and to trust the words and actions of one another as honest. If this trust is broken at any time, we agree to restore trust by confessing the untruths, by seeking forgiveness, and by making any necessary restitution to our marriage.
