BRIANNA TAKES A STAND FOR GOD

This letter was written to the administrator of Christian Adoption, by Brianna.  Her witness and her confession is worthy of posting online.  Her heart is pure towards God and we count it a joy and honor to call her our sister in Christ. All names have been changed to protect privacy.

Winter 1999

Dear Deborah,

I just wanted to let you know how things are going with us.

Becca is doing great, she went to her doctor's appointment last Thursday and he said that her cervix was softening and everything was looking good. The day before and all night she was having contractions. So we are just waiting on that call, anytime between now and the end of the month.

And as for me and Matt we are ready and waiting! With hearts full of love and thanksgiving to our Lord for all He has done and will continue to do. Praise the Lord!

You know it is funny, you think people are coming around and realizing that this is the work of the Lord and then someone starts to question again. And to my surprise, this time it was a sister in Christ. Last night at church I arrived a little early as usual and there was a fellow Christian and she came to me and said, "Brianna I want to ask you something, well no, well yes, I want to ask you while there's not a lot of people around." And I agreed to her questioning.  (I'm sure you can guess her question.)  "Are you sure that Becca will not change her mind? That she won't back out at the last minute?"

Of course, I just smiled and looked my friend in the eye and said. "Of course there are no guarantees for anything in life, except that this flesh will die. No, I do not believe that Becca will change her mind, for the reason that this is God's plan--not ours. I know without a doubt that Isaiah is our child, that God did indeed create him for us. I also believe that God so graciously blessed us doubly with Becca, for she is truly one of the sweetest, most caring, loving, young Christians we have ever met. She truly desires to be obedient to the Lord and to His plan. We praise God for her everyday."

Her question can challenge my mind, but most of the time, I stand on the promises of the Lord. He is faithful and true.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for He is faithful that promised.  Hebrews 10:23  

Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.  Matthew 21:21-22

Have faith in God.  Mark 11:22  

For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  2 Timothy 1:12

I know and believe in my Lord Jesus Christ. There is no doubt that our God is at work and as long as we are seeking Him and His will, everything will work out just the way it is planned by the Master. My trust and faith is in Him! Praise be to the Lord! You know no matter how certain you are of things, others are not going to see the Lord's plan and His hand upon an event unless they too are seeking Him and His will for that situation.

That is something God just revealed to me. They will not see until it is all said and done. That is why when He calls us to be a part of His plan we must witness and testify of our faith in the situation and stand on His word no matter what others think or say. And when it has come to pass then they too will see and believe. So, I thank God for His blessed assurance we have in Him and also for the blessing of being a witness to His greatness and to the fact that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Praise God!  Please keep us in your prayers as I'm sure you do. And also pass on my prayers for all those in the Christian Adoption family.

Keep your eyes on Him and soon everything will come into focus. And you will see life just the way He has it planned for you.
