The most common error messages that pop up on your monitor while you are surfing the Internet or trying to access a web site; that drive your mind to DISTRACTION!

404: Not found or 404: Access denied: This is an error message that tells you this web site doesn't exist anymore or that the web site may have moved and is no longer located at this domain space. Try running a search of the web site's name with a search engine and see what address you are given. If the address is correct and you still get the same error message, the webmaster of the web site may be working on the web site and access is denied until their upgrade and uploads are completed.

Unable to locate the server; the server does not have a DNS entry: (Domain Name System or Server): The DNS is the means used to look up the name you entered. Either the web site does not exist or your connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is faulty. Try a web site that you know has a DNS entry like your favorite search engine. If you still get a DNS error message, your connection to you ISP has become faulty. Try logging-off and dialing in again. Contact your ISP if the problem persists.
This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down: (GPF=General Protection Fault): Your computer is confused, perhaps you have clicked or double clicked too quickly. Consider emptying your cache, reset your computer or close out programs that are running all at the same time. Clean out your recycle bin, dump your temporary files from the Internet cache and reboot.
What is a Domain: If you think of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) as the owner of a city on the World Wide Web, then to own a domain is like owning a street. The bigger the ISP, the bigger their city. To own a domain is to own a street of space on the web. A yearly fee is paid to own this street in cyberspace and this space entitles the owner to put up a web site with multiple pages and megabytes of information. Our ISP owns a small city on the web and we own a street in that city. All domain names are searched to ensure that no one occupies the same web site address and space. Most ISP's provide their subscribers with space for a home page, which would be like giving their clients a room in one of the houses in their city.
