PRECIOUS GIFT

To Ricky & Cathy (our birth parents) and for all birth parents.
All names have been changed to protect privacy.
(Another successful adoption with Christian Adoption.)
How do we show them, Lord,
All the joy we feel inside?
How do we explain the magnitude
of all the tears we've cried?
How do we thank them for this precious gift,
And make it understood,
That because of them we'll finally know
the joys of parenthood.
The decision that they've made, Dear Lord,
Doesn't come without a price.
How do we show them the blessing we've received
Through their unselfish sacrifice?
We've thought so much about this, Lord
And we want for them to see,
That because of their love we'll now become
long-awaited parents to be.
How do we show them Lord?
Well, we only know one way.
To raise this child up to know you
And love her everyday.
To shower her with kisses and hugs,
And make it understood,
That because of the love in her birthparent's hearts
We know the joys of parenthood.
Thank you for this couple
And their willingness to bear
A loving sacrifice, Dear Lord,
That is the answer to our prayer!
Allison and her husband successfully adopted a healthy baby girl in July '01!
